SO YOU CALL THIS A BLOG?.......COME ON......

Ralph
Siraco's Blog
Any
Day 2010
OK.
It is obvious that this is NOT a traditional Blog. Or, for that matter,
any other definition of a Blog. So, let me start by saying, "I
apologize." As many of you know, I am computer challenged and still
getting used to such things as cell phones, E mail and color TV
(ha,ha). But, you get the point. The new fast-lane age of technology is
passing me by like I have turned to stone. And, for good reason: I like
communicating in the most traditional (old fashioned) manner. Now,
that is not an excuse for misleading those who have visited this page
as a Blog, but, it is the reason for anything but a Blog here.
The
Race Day Las Vegas radio shows is where I am most comfortable, and, is
the reason for this very Web Site. Thus, everything I have to
say, everything that I think may fill such Blog writings are "said" on
the shows each day. So, unless I have a mission or cause, it really
serves no purpose to rehash here. Now, that might sound as a "cop out"
to some, and, may have some validity to it, but, it is the
reason for a Blog-less Blog here. I also know that some of you reading
this message right now may not have the time--when we broadcast
live--to listen, but, then again, that is why we have the archives
section. Is this a good reason, well, I
guess you will make that final determination. However, remember,
although your medium may be the Blog-o-sphere, my lack of
such is in no way a criticism of this forum.
Do I
have things to say, "certainly." Do I have a forum here to do so, "of
course." But, so are the Race Day Las Vegas radio shows.
I
guess I will use this space on occasion, but, not over used. It is just
not my style. So as I close this Blog with no other message than to
inform those who read here that this communique is nothing of a Blog at
all. Please know that I share your passion for the great game of horse
racing, I share the triumphs and pains of our passion and will always
be in the corner of the players.
Final
thought: If those who are the custodians of our great sport, and, those
who ultimately will guide this industry through challenging and
changing times can make their final decisions, on whatever direction
they take next and further, they should ask themselves just two
questions, "Is this good for the horseplayers? and Is this good for the
horse?" If they can truly answer both questions with
a conscience-free resounding "YES", then this sport will survive,
it will rise to a new higher popularity and will secure it's existence
for many generations of horseplayers and racing fans to come.
HAVE A GREAT RACE DAY.
